An Itch I Can't Scratch

On the 10th I set off for Prague, today I tried to do some preparation by shopping for some smart clothes to wear. I'm intending to pack light and avoid baggage charges. I figured the best thing to do was get a skirt I can pair with multiple shirts.

This one from New Look's Inspire range met my skirty needs. It's not quite as formal as I hoped, but the dream skirt from ASOS is way out of my budget at £35. Sadly, that's where my shopping joy ended.

Every single shirt I picked up today was made from some weird scritchy material (which also made up two other skirts I tried on too!) I have no idea what's going on, but it felt horribly synthetic and like it would get uncomfortable fast. I felt hot and bothered trying things on in the changing rooms (let alone outside in the world), and sizing felt like it had no rhyme or reason. Is this something you've come across too? Where can I find some pretty/smart shirts which aren't going to be scratchy/gapey/horribly uncomfortable? Help!
